Organisation

Advanced UV for Life – Association for the Promotion of UV Technologies is committed to the goal of rapidly advancing innovative and environmentally friendly UV solutions and transferring them from research to application.

History

The foundation stone for the association was laid in early 2014, when the consortium Advanced UV for Life began its work. Within the framework of the Twenty20 program funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), more than 40 projects on the development of UV LEDs and their applications were successfully carried out by the partners in an interdisciplinary manner. With the founding of the association, this successful network was then further consolidated and expanded.

Mission

There are numerous advantages of modern UV devices and their use, in particular with regard to environmental protection, occupational health and safety as well as sustainability.

That’s why our mission is the promotion of science, research, development, cooperation and education about all areas of UV devices and their applications.

We represent the common interests of our members at all levels of science policy and we advocate for a better awareness and broader acceptance of UV technologies (including established UV sources) in the general public, the media and politics.
