AlN – An Emerging Semiconductor for Power Electronics and Deep UV Photonics (Symposium)
A one-day symposium highlighting cutting-edge research on aluminum nitride for power electronics and deep-UV photonics, featuring leading experts, technical sessions, and the IKZ Fellowship award.
More
The Symposium & IKZ Fellowship 2026 at the Leibniz Institute for Crystal Growth (IKZ) brings together leading researchers and industry partners to discuss current advances in aluminum nitride (AlN) and related nitride technologies. The one-day event features scientific presentations, expert discussions, and the award ceremony for the IKZ International Fellowship, which supports outstanding early-career researchers and strengthens international collaboration.
The programme includes sessions on power and RF electronics, highlighting ultrawide-bandgap materials and device reliability, as well as an optoelectronics session focused on UV emitters, photonic-crystal lasers, and far-UVC AlGaN developments. A panel discussion will address the strategic role of nitride semiconductors for European technological sovereignty.
Participants will also have the opportunity to join guided laboratory tours showcasing IKZ’s crystal growth facilities and research infrastructure. The symposium offers a platform for scientific exchange, networking, and insight into emerging AlN-based technologies shaping future photonic and electronic applications.

ICFUST 2026
International Conference on Far-UVC Science and Technology
Organizing Committee: Nick Volet, Aarhus University (Conference Chair); Peter Tønning, UV Medico A/S
More
ICFUST 2026 pursues a highly relevant objective: to thoroughly explore the potential of Far-UVC science and technology for protecting lives in healthcare. By preventing healthcare-associated infections, reducing the transmission of pathogens via air and surfaces, and protecting patients and medical staff, Far-UVC can make a tangible contribution to improving patient safety.
As an international forum, the conference brings together basic research, safety validation, regulatory aspects, and clinical and environmental applications. With the highest scientific standards and critical, independent evaluation, the focus is particularly on practical benefits: the transfer of reliable research results into practical, effective solutions for infection prevention and safe clinical environments.
