Driven by growing demand in high-impact applications such as water purification, surface and air disinfection, medical sterilization, and indoor air quality systems, AlGaN-based ultraviolet light emitters have made remarkable progress. Emerging uses in areas like food safety, semiconductor manufacturing, and environmental monitoring further accelerate innovation. This session will highlight the latest achievements and provide a comprehensive overview of state-of-the-art developments in UV-LED technologies and their applications. ICFUST 2026 folgt einer hochaktuellen Zielsetzung: das Potenzial der Far-UVC-Wissenschaft und -Technologie für den Schutz von Leben im Gesundheitswesen fundiert zu erschließen. Durch die Prävention healthcare-assoziierter Infektionen, die Reduktion der Übertragung von Krankheitserregern über Luft und Oberflächen sowie den Schutz von Patientinnen, Patienten und medizinischem Personal kann Far-UVC einen spürbaren Beitrag zur Verbesserung der Patientensicherheit leisten. Als internationales Forum bringt die Konferenz Grundlagenforschung, Sicherheitsvalidierung, regulatorische Aspekte sowie klinische und umweltbezogene Anwendungen zusammen. Die jährliche Mitgliederversammlung des Advanced UV for Life findet am Di, 21. April 2026 in Berlin statt, unmittelbar vor dem Beginn der ICULTA 2026. Alle Mitglieder des Verbands sind herzlich eingeladen, an der Sitzung teilzunehmen. Der Beginn ist für 10:15 Uhr vorgesehen. Die Teilnahme an der Mitgliederversammlung ist für Mitglieder kostenfrei. Für die anschließende Teilnahme an der ICULTA 2026 (21.-24 April) ist jedoch auch für Verbandsmitglieder eine separate offizielle Anmeldung über die ICULTA‑Webseite erforderlich. Die detaillierte Agenda sowie organisatorische Hinweise zur Teilnahme werden den Mitgliedern bis Mitte März bereitgestellt.

Photonics West 2026

Schwerpunkt Ultraviolett-Photonik: von UV-A bis far-UVC auf der Photonics West 2026

Photonics West 2026 wird erneut zum zentralen Treffpunkt für Ultraviolett-Photonik. Von UV-A bis far-UVC, von Grundlagen über Bauelemente bis zu Anwendungen in Medizin, Industrie und Quantentechnologien. Zwischen dem 17. und 22. Januar 2026 erwartet Teilnehmende im Moscone Center (San Francisco) eine außergewöhnlich breite Auswahl an UV-bezogenen Vorträgen und Postern.

Lichtquellen & Nichtlinearoptik: Das Programm reicht von DUV- und VUV-Pulserzeugung (z. B. Four-Wave-Mixing, parametric amplification, SHG) über 148-nm-VUV-Laser bis hin zu tunable Systemen von Deep-UV bis Mid-IR. Auch integrierte nichtlineare Konzepte und UV-Beam-Shaping stehen im Fokus.

UV-LEDs, Laser & Materialien: Zahlreiche Beiträge adressieren AlN/AlGaN-Epitaxie, UV-C- und DUV-LEDs, deep-UV-Laser (VCSELs, Photonic-Crystal-Laser) sowie Design- und Zuverlässigkeitsthemen – von Lichtauskopplung über Optiken bis zu Degradationsmechanismen.

far-UVC: Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt liegt auf far-UVC-Technologien für Medizin und Hygiene: von „human-safe“ 230-nm-LEDs, High-Power-Modulen und Field-Emission-Devices bis zur Bewertung antimikrobieller Wirksamkeit und Biokompatibilität. Ergänzt wird dies durch integrierte AlN-Photonik für far-UVC-Frequenzkonversion.

Imaging & Life Sciences: Deep-UV-Mikroskopie, UV-Photoakustik, Endoskopie-Ansätze und label-freie Diagnostik zeigen den direkten Weg von der Quelle zur klinischen Anwendung.

Industrie & Prozesse: UV-Laserbearbeitung, Desinfektion, DUV-Lithografie, Nanoimprint und Metrologie runden das Programm ab.

Fazit: Wer sich für UV-, UV-C- und far-UVC-Photonik interessiert, findet 2026 eine einmalige Dichte an relevanten Sessions.

Binding Effect: Upon submission of the event online registration form or through other means (e.g., email, phone), you are considered “registered,” even in the case of pending payment. If you register for the event on behalf of an entity, you agree to these terms on behalf of that entity.

Registration Confirmation: Your event registration is subject to our final confirmation, which will be sent via email. We reserve the right to deny registration without cause.

Program Changes: It may be necessary to modify the event content, program timing, speakers, date, or venue at any time before the event. In such cases, we will notify you, providing an opportunity to adapt or to cancel your registration. If you choose to cancel, we are not responsible for any costs or expenses resulting from the cancellation.

Event Language: The event language is specified in the event announcement.

Payment of Fees (Where Applicable): If the event is not free of charge, you must pay the relevant fees, including all taxes as specified in the event information, in the registration form, or in the invoice. Payment is due before the event begins. Discounts, such as early bird rates, apply only if payment is made by the agreed-upon date.

Event Cancellation by Us: If the event is canceled, registered attendees will receive a refund of the registration fee only. Any fees related to travel or hotel reservations are the exclusive responsibility of the attendees.

Cancellation by the Attendee: For free events, please inform us if you cannot participate. If payment is required, all fees remain due unless other agreements are made in writing between us and you. We are not liable for any costs or expenses resulting from your registration cancellation.

No Recordings: Attendees, speakers, and guests can speak freely and interact in-person. We will not be recording the event (no videos, no voice transcripts)
